This Frameless model is a stunner and can prove to be a mouthful to namedrop as the Samsung UE60D8000 is the ultimate upscale TV to have in your living area. It might as well go with a designer couch since it comes with a hefty price tag of 4,200.
The Samsung UE60D8000 is a 60 inch screen behemoth outlined by an ultra sleek silver bezel. It measures 30.45mm deep and weighs 24.8kg and comes with silver-prod foot base. If a glowing Samsung logo doesn't sit well with you, you can always turn it off. Everything you need - Volume levels, power button and channel controls- are on the left hand side.
Color is king with the Samsung UE60D8000. You get your money's worth on dynamic HD picture quality which is no doubt astonishingly sharp. The brightness is fit for a TV of such scale that counters it evenly with a rich layer of contrast points.
However, backlighting is still one of the setbacks common with edge-lit LED screens like this one. Though subtle, you'll still spot some backlight bleeding through the LCD panel particularly if you're watching night sequences or if the screen turns dark for a title sequence.
As for interface, the Samsung UE60D8000 has a great easy-to-navigate screen when connecting to the web, expect to be presented with a buffet of internet apps. The model also comes with 2 pairs of Samsung’s Bluetooth active shutter 3D glasses.
Beyond everything else, the Samsung UE60D8000 is just gorgeous. A ultra fine space saver and an amazing conversation piece that guests will never forget.
Ugh, no pictures? Sounds good, but I would love to see how this LCD screen looks like. I just moved into a new apartment, it’s a bit small so I’m looking for an LCD screen I can hang on the wall without it looking TV-esque. The “frameless” description sounds nice but it would be nicer if you can show the audience how this “stunner” looks like.
ReplyDelete"Wow, Samsung really takes the cake when it comes to innovation. But can you please tell us more about the 3D functionality? What are Bluetooth active shutter 3D glasses? What if you have more people watching? Is there a way to actually turn off the 3D functionality and switch to normal viewing?
ReplyDeleteI really also have no idea as to how internet TV’s work. I was also wondering how you can type on those things, is there a keyboard somewhere or does it work like an iPad touchscreen? I would pretty much like to save up for one of these new hi-tech TV’s, but I would appreciate a bit more info.
Thanks! :D

This is like the TV of the future, I hope I can get one of these before the year ends. For 2012, the internet and 3D viewing has already been part of our culture, and I must applaude Samsung for putting these two factors into the television. I always loved 3D movies and watching videos on Youtube, now, with this TV, I can do both without budging from my living room. Sure it,s a bit pricey, but what you get will be definitely worth it.
ReplyDeleteless frame, more inches of viewing pleasure. totally with karen on hanging it on the wall with brackets. now i just have to think about routing the cords so it won't show up and snake across the wall as it'll ruin the whole zen thing i've got going on.
